Senior Director, College-Level Programs and Student Support Initiatives
Location: University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Retention and Outreach and leads the federally funded college‑level programs and student support initiatives within the College for Academic, Economic, and Outness (CAEO).
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee and administer the following federally funded programs: TRIO Student Support Services grants, TRIO Ronald E. McNair Post‑baccalaureate Program, Title III AANAPISI, Basic Needs, Hope, Fostering Scholars, SNAP E&T, Emergency Scholarships, Campus Food Pantry, and related projects.
- Communicate regularly with CAEO leadership, UNLV colleges/departments, and community partners to ensure collaboration, effective administration, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and university mandates.
- Ensure compliance with each grant proposal’s objectives, including preparation of quarterly and annual performance reports, participant identification and selection, and budgetary oversight.
- Lead and supervise a diverse staff, including administrative faculty, classified employees, graduate assistants, and temporary staff.
- Promote collaboration among CAEO programs and maintain a robust pipeline from secondary to post‑baccalaureate levels.
- Advocate for CAEO programs and serve as a liaison with host institution, local, state, and federal agencies, community organizations, and the public.
- Contribute majorly to grant‑related research that supports CAEO’s vision and mission.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a comparable role.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing federally funded TRIO or similar projects, including budget development, compliance monitoring, personnel supervision, and mandatory reporting.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills and deep knowledge of TRIO legislation, regulations, grant writing, and program management.
- Comprehensive understanding of Title III and Title IV TRIO Programs and related statutes.
- Knowledge of counseling, instructional evaluation, program marketing, and supervisory strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in higher‑education settings.
- Significant experience managing large grant programs such as AANAPISI, GEAR UP, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a self‑directed environment.
- Advanced leadership, interpersonal communication, time‑management, and computer skills.
- Experience overseeing online communication with students.
