What you need to be successful
To thrive as a Center Director at Our Children’s Place, candidates must possess a robust set of skills that drive success in Early Childhood Education. A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, complemented by at least two years of experience as a center director, is essential. However, under OCFS guidance, committed individuals pursuing their degree with a documented study plan may also be considered. Successful directors exhibit steady leadership and exceptional communication skills, ensuring clarity and collaboration among staff and families.
They should be confident problem-solvers, adept at navigating the dynamic environment of a Licensed Child Care Center. Familiarity with digital tools is a must, as you will utilize various software for effective communication and organization. Ultimately, a strong understanding of early childhood environments allows directors to maintain a positive, organized, and child-centered program, fostering an atmosphere where both children and staff can thrive.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field along with at least two years of experience as a center director. Under OCFS guidance
- Strong applicants who do not yet hold a bachelor’s degree may be considered if they are committed to furthering their education with a documented plan of study.
- Successful directors bring steady leadership, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of early childhood environments.
