Senior Estimator

JL Partners is working with a respected, full-service general contractor with integrated Architecture & Engineering capabilities, delivering complex projects across the Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors throughout New England. We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a Boston-based preconstruction team.

You will:

• Lead preconstruction estimating for complex Healthcare and Life Sciences projects ranging from tenant fitouts to full-scale hospital and lab builds
• Develop detailed quantity takeoffs, conceptual budgets, schematic estimates, and GMP proposals across all project phases
• Collaborate closely with in-house Architects and Engineers to align design intent with project budgets during early design phases
• Manage subcontractor prequalification, bid solicitation, scope levelling, and buy-out strategies
• Present estimates and value engineering options to clients, design teams, and ownership groups
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior estimators within the preconstruction group

We will look for:

• 8+ years of estimating experience within a general contracting environment, with a strong focus on Healthcare or Life Sciences construction
• Demonstrated experience with projects over $50M; familiarity with ICRA/ILSM protocols, cGMP environments, and/or occupied facility builds is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in estimating software — Sage Estimating, Timberline, or equivalent — along with a strong working knowledge of Bluebeam and BIM tools
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
• Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills; comfortable operating in a design-build or integrated delivery environment
