Bilingual Environmental Education Director & Instructor

Environmental Education Instructor

Instructors are responsible for planning, preparing, and leading general and specialized activities for nature program participants.

  • Lead group games, nature activities, arts & crafts, and guided hikes
  • Facilitate hands‑on learning experiences and support youth engagement
  • Assist with program preparation, set‑up, and clean‑up
  • Ensure participant safety and positive group dynamics

Pay Range: $20.15 – $21.41 per hour* (full hourly range $20.15 – $22.71). Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.

Schedule & Hours: Variable depending on program needs.

  • January – Early March: 0–10 hours/week.
  • Mid‑March – Early June: 10–20 hours/week.
  • Summer (June 10 – August 30): 20–30 hours/week.

Environmental Education Director

Directors oversee the development and implementation of assigned nature programs. They work independently within established guidelines and provide leadership to part‑time staff and volunteers.

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead day‑to‑day activities for assigned programs
  • Supervise and support part‑time staff and volunteers
  • Manage program logistics, safety procedures, and participant experience
  • Assist with curriculum design and seasonal program planning

Pay Range: $23.32 – $24.79 per hour* (full hourly range $23.32 – $26.29). Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.

Schedule & Hours: For a partnership program designing and delivering environmental education for a Spanish immersion preschool:

  • Fall, Winter & Spring: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 am – 1 pm (6–10 hours/week).
  • Summer: Monday – Friday 9 am – 3 pm (25–35 hours/week).
  • Staff may acquire additional hours in other programs.
  • Part‑time employees may work less than 1,560 hours per year.

* 5% bilingual pay incentive available for staff who regularly use bilingual or multilingual skills.
