Vice President, Commercial Banker

Lewis James Professional is a woman‑owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Vice President, Commercial Banker for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual budget by growing deposits and fee income with existing and new client relationships.
• Maximize portfolio profitability through appropriate pricing and cross‑selling of the Bank’s products and services to a nationwide client base.
• Payment & Technology Banking services include complex treasury management services (high volume ACH, Disbursement Services, Card Sponsorship Programs, excess Cash Management) and other related corporate banking services, including lending.
• Work with cross‑functional business partners (risk management, operations, compliance, treasury services, and Credit) to execute on new and existing client opportunities.
• Strengthen the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on‑going customer contact, call reports, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
• Partner with risk management / credit administration partner(s) to: complete financial analysis and the underwriting and closing of new opportunities.
• Monitor client financial status and compliance on ongoing basis. Complete underwriting memos to support ACH limits.
• Collaborate with senior bankers to develop a strong referral / COI network.
• Establish and mentor junior members of the Payment & Technology Banking team.
• Execute industry analysis and participate in relevant industry related events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Business or Economics. Formal bank credit training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of banking, treasury services, corporate lending, corporate finance, Embedded Payments Company, and/or new Embedded Payments client origination experience.
• Preferably with experience and a network in national markets.
• Strong understanding of Risk, Compliance and Portfolio Management.
• Mastery of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation or review of in-depth financial models, credit approval packages.
• Extensive experience in financial statement analysis.
• Experience negotiating complex agreements.
• Proficiency with PC software.
