Support responsibilities and functions of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Direct Union College Academy for Lifelong Learning.**Position Title: Director of Faculty Affairs Operations and UCALL****Pay Status and Classification:** Exempt, Regular Full-time**Supervisor:** Vice President for Academic Affairs**Position Purpose:** Support responsibilities and functions of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Direct Union College Academy for Lifelong Learning.*This position is an in-person role and not eligible for a hybrid schedule.***Essential Responsibilities and Duties:****Union College Academy for Lifelong Learning (UCALL)*** Provide strategic leadership, management, and oversight for Union College’s self-funded Lifelong Learning program. Cultivate a dynamic, welcoming learning community that offers non-credit enrichment opportunities for adults—primarily of retirement age—reflecting Union College’s tradition of liberal arts and academic excellence.* Strategic Leadership: Oversee the daily operations and long-term growth of the self-funded UCALL program.* Curriculum Planning: Partner with committees and faculty to design and execute high-quality non-credit courses and events.* Operational Management: Handle logistics for all programming, including registration systems, scheduling, and technology.* Marketing & Recruitment: Execute outreach strategies to expand membership and manage all digital and print communications.* Financial Oversight: Manage the program budget, financial reporting, and fundraising activities.* Member Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for members and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment.**Academic Affairs Event Planning and Coordination*** Plan and manage Dean’s List and reception, Prize Day, Stillman Teaching Award, Nichols Fellowship, and Baccalaureate. Provide academic affairs partnership in coordinating campus-wide events such as Convocation, Founders’ Day, and Commencement.**Faculty Affairs Management*** Support Dean of the Faculty functions including staffing decisions, the issuing of appointment letters, faculty and major committee business, facilitating faculty review, promotion, renewal, sabbatical, and leave processes and procedures, board of trustees preparations, record keeping and file maintenance.* Assist with maintenance of Academic Affairs websites**Vice President’s Office and Financial Management*** Manage office and UCALL budgets.* Process expense reports and issue payment requests.* Process annual student and faculty awards.* Modest calendaring and scheduling responsibilities.**Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience; advanced degree desirable).* 3–5 years of experience in program management, event planning, or higher education
onprofit programming preferred.* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.* Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple people.* Ability to build and manage budgets.* Proficiency with standard office software, digital communication tools, and data management systems; ability to learn new tools quickly and effectively.* The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.* Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of faculty, fellow staff colleagues, and community members.* Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.* Able to proactively identify and pursue relevant learning and professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge, insights, and skills to enhance results.**Compensation:****The annual salary range for this position is** **$68,000 to $70,000.** Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
