Joe’s is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Merchandising (women's) to lead the product strategy, range planning, and merchandising execution across both full price and off-price channels for our denim and apparel collections. This critical leadership role will drive seasonal product direction and assortment strategy while partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with brand, business, and financial goals.

The Director will oversee all aspects of line planning, market positioning, product lifecycle management, and performance analytics, acting as the voice of the customer and the market. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, brings strong merchandising acumen, and has a passion for both the art and science of product creation and go‑to‑market execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the seasonal line architecture and range plans across all categories for both full price and off-price businesses.
  • Serve as the central partner and strategic lead for Design, Planning, Sales, Production, and Marketing to align on product strategy, assortment direction, and key milestones.
  • Analyze sales and margin performance, in-season trends, and market dynamics to identify opportunities, manage risk, and influence future line plans.
  • Own and manage all collection development tools, including line sheets, product decks, and presentation materials for key meetings such as line reviews, adoption, and sales presentations.
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to inform pricing, style depth, and category strategies tailored to Joe’s premium positioning and outlet opportunities.
  • Partner with Planning and Finance to build and achieve seasonal and annual financial targets—including sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
  • Oversee the style approval and system accuracy process (e.g., PLM/IBT), ensuring timely communication and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with DTC and Wholesale teams to ensure product flow, marketing alignment, and accurate merchandising representation across all channels.
  • Support brand storytelling by aligning product strategies with seasonal marketing moments and sales initiatives.
  • Drive cross‑functional accountability and alignment through calendar management, meeting facilitation, and follow‑ups.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • 8–10 years of experience in apparel merchandising or buying, with a strong track record in relevant product categories; prior experience as a Merchandiser required.
  • Denim experience strongly preferred, with a deep understanding of both the product and the competitive landscape.
  • Proven expertise in wholesale apparel merchandising, including knowledge of manufacturing processes, global supply chain operations, and both premium full price and off-price distribution channels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with sound judgment and strong leadership capabilities, capable of driving vision while navigating cross‑functional complexity.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with experience in managing, mentoring, and motivating high‑performing teams.
  • Strong ability to multi‑task, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, analytical, and creative—able to balance data with instinct in merchandising decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with SAP and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems is preferred.
