Anytime Fitness is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others improve their lives through health and fitness. Industry experience is not required, but first‑rate people skills and a self‑motivated work ethic are essential. Work in a fun, upbeat atmosphere where every day is different.

To be considered for this position you must be a high‑energy self‑starter, have an extroverted personality, be a good motivator/coach, enjoy sales, marketing, building a great culture in the club, and genuinely care about helping others. Membership Sales Directors are responsible for managing day‑to‑day tasks, welcoming guests and members to the gym, selling memberships and training services, and leading staff to work as a cohesive unit.
Important: This is a sales position. If you are uncomfortable with sales or calling complete strangers on the phone to invite them to stop in to see our club, this is not the position or industry for you. We are looking for a motivated salesperson who is ready to grow our membership base and help us grow our coaching program! Your main responsibility would be to sell our services and inspire others to believe in health and fitness.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Membership Sales
Membership and training sales are a large component of the club manager role. Managers must qualify, inform, inspire, and convert leads to members. We use a proven system that helps our guests overcome their own roadblocks to starting a fitness program. When used correctly, this system doesn’t feel like sales at all. Remember, you are hired to inspire.
Personal Training Sales and Services
Membership Sales Directors can expect to spend one‑third of their time leading pre‑designed workouts in a group setting. This includes energizing and motivating clients throughout the sessions, modifying specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels, and ensuring the safety of participants using heart‑rate monitors and exercise techniques.
Club Promotional Marketing
When you love your gym, others will too. The Membership Sales Director establishes relationships with businesses and influencers in the community to promote the brand through B2B marketing. This person also helps coordinate and execute engagement campaigns, national marketing campaigns, and community outreach efforts using assets and operations created by the Anytime Fitness corporate teams. We love creative “guerrilla” type marketing and give preference to social media savvy.
Community Involvement
We love being part of the local community—even if it means working on a Saturday. There are countless opportunities to get outside the club and promote our business. We actively participate in the local Chamber of Commerce and community‑sponsored events.
Networking / Employee Wellness
We work with a network of local and national employers and insurance companies that try to encourage their employees to lead healthier lifestyles. Making contacts is the first step—then we try to find a solution that helps everyone.
Team Building
Leading a team and driving results through motivation and fun is a key component to ensure success as a Membership Sales Director. Your core team consists of personal trainers, group trainers, and part‑time staff. Your job is to train, guide, and inspire all members of your team to foster a trusting, positive environment members and guests want to engage with.
Member Experience
The most important aspect of all! Does your club rock? Do your members love you? Do they like the environment you create inside the club? Do they get inspired to share their experience with friends, family, and coworkers? We pride ourselves on providing top‑notch customer service and aim to make each member’s and guest’s experience exceptional. Membership Sales Directors must love creating an environment that inspires members and guests to share their positive experiences.
Operations
Membership Sales Directors must ensure the club is a clean, friendly environment. This means you are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑stocked gym at all times and following daily club cleaning checklists and maintenance efforts. You must enforce safety and security procedures and ensure all equipment is functioning and operational.
Staffed Hours
Staffed hours are subject to change based on season and scheduled events. Must be willing to work Saturdays during peak season months.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma minimum
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an exercise‑related field is highly preferred
- Sales experience preferred—or the willingness to learn how to sell is a must!
- Management experience is a PLUS!
- Friendly, outgoing, warm, coachable, and able to adapt to changes in a fast‑paced setting
- Available to work flexible hours; we do not have normal 9‑5 hours and are staffed on Saturdays during peak season from October to March
- Self‑motivated and able to motivate others; a self‑starter who can work independently and effectively without constant guidance
- Excellent communication skills, ability to manage time/schedules, and work well with others as a team
- Positive attitude and the ability to inspire others to take action
- Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs. and perform duties/responsibilities of working in a gym setting

Position is full‑time. Competitive base salary ranging from $35,000–$50,000 based on experience, with the opportunity to earn monthly sales commissions. This position reports to the District Manager.
