Mortgage Loan Processor III
At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). Responsibilities
Coordinate all processing functions of mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy in documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Interact frequently with customers, both internal and external.
Respond to all client service requests via telephone, email, and fax.
Process mortgage loan applications consistent with department policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Review and update all data entry, verifying data in the LOS.
Proficient use of multiple technology applications (credit, employment & asset verifications, PMI, fraud detection, compliance checks, guideline resources).
Communicate effectively with all parties regarding documents, timelines, closings, and important dates throughout the workflow process.
Review and analyze incoming loan documents for accuracy, consistency, and readability.
Understand and apply product/investor guidelines for accurate loan document verification.
Order appraisal, title policies, PMI, and tax transcripts as needed.
Understand the basic functions of all areas in mortgage operations for effective communication.
Assist with projects, training, and daily tasks.
Mentor and train less experienced staff.
Attend training and educational classes as scheduled.
Attend company meetings (on‑site or off‑site) during or after normal work hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma and/or GED.
Minimum of 3 years’ banking experience in lending operations or related experience.
Skills
Good interpersonal communication, filing, and organizational skills.
Computer literate and detail oriented.
High degree of confidentiality and ability to work with deadlines.
