Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Technical Designer in Women’s Apparel, based in New York, NY. The Assistant Technical Designer will assist in garment development by collaborating on fit evaluations, updating technical packs, and executing pattern adjustments under the supervision of the design team. Responsibilities will also include ensuring adherence to brand quality standards, communicating specifications with vendors, and supporting the team in all technical design processes required to bring designs from concept to production.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Technical Design principles and practices
Experience in Garment Construction, including stitching and assembly techniques
Familiarity with Fitting processes and the ability to identify and adjust fit issues
Understanding of Pattern Making and Architecture as it applies to apparel design
Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, CAD tools, and tech pack creation
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field is preferred
Prior experience in women’s ready-to-wear fashion is a strong plus
