FAIRFIELD COUNTY OFFICE (this is for all parts of Fairfield County, and parts of Westchester County)
About the job A Superintendent directs the work flow of the project on site consistent with the project schedule and with safety and the highest of quality standards. The Superintendent provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters, as well as demonstrate the characteristics of a team leader. The Superintendent communicates project priorities to site staff and all subcontractors, serving as the primary leader on site for the project.
Responsibilities
Direct the on-site workflow to align with the project schedule, safety, and high-quality standards; provide leadership and act as liaison among project team members to represent business and client interests.
Communicate project priorities to site staff and subcontractors; serve as the primary on-site leader for the project.
Administer the client's safety program for all subcontractors; ensure accidents/incidents are reported and investigated promptly; assist in safety inspections by outside agencies.
Maintain quality standards for all aspects of the project.
Lead on-site safety as the team leader; manage a safe jobsite for all involved.
Maintain daily log of activities and site conditions; manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.
Collaborate with the project manager to formulate the project schedule; ensure proper methods and sequence of installation are followed; follow through on schedule commitments while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain good relationships with all subcontractors; foster relationships within the community to enhance business opportunities and ensure fair treatment of subcontractors.
Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets; understand subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders; identify problems early and provide solutions.
Develop and organize the site team; arrange for temporary facilities/utilities; identify long-lead items that need to be expedited.
Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project.
Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of Superintendent experience with a general contractor independently managing diverse projects within the retail and interiors marketplace.
7+ years’ experience in commercial construction (Retail/TI/remodels) highly preferred.
Proven experience managing multiple projects and project teams.
Strong computer skills; MS Project or Procore would be preferable but not essential.
Salary range is wide open (100K+). Client will pay top dollar for the best candidate.
