Pay Range: $39.12 - $58.68
Summary
Salary range: $39.12 - $58.68 USD Hourly

Work Schedule/Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm plus call
Responsibilities
The Cardiac Sonographer produces images of heart muscle and functioning by setting up ultrasound equipment, operating and adjusting equipment, recording cardiac data and measurements, and protecting and helping patients.
Assists with transesophageal cardiograms, dobutamine stress tests and other procedures as needed.
The technologist identifies pertinent clinical information and communicates this to the physician.
Essential Job Functions
Identifies cardiac anatomy according to patient age, cardiac anomalies, heart disease and pertinent clinical information; communicates this to the cardiologist.
Assists the cardiologist with patient exams and identifies changes in patient clinical circumstances which may alter exam protocol and performance.
Performs computer analysis and demonstrates competency in quantitative calculations of echo data; reviews echocardiograms for quality and completeness per cardiologist’s preference.
Collects and reviews required clinical information prior to exams and communicates information to the physician and co-workers (e.g., patient history, pertinent symptoms). Ensures a written physician order is received and reviews charts to ensure proper exams are performed.
Provides education appropriate to patient procedure within scope of responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet department/organization needs.
Certifications
Sonographer — North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) — ARDMS
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) — Cardiovascular Credentialing International
Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association
Education
Required: Associate's degree in Cardiac Sonography or related field
Work Experience
Preferred: A minimum of 1 year related experience
Language Requirements This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
