Product Designer

HP, Vancouver, WA, United States

We’re seeking a passionate, hands‑on, and comprehensive thinking Product Designer to join our kick‑ass team at HP. We are looking for creative thinkers who are entrepreneurial, critical of the current experiences around them, and innovators who are energized to re‑imagine the way people, brands, and services interact to make devices, services, and the overall HP brand more personal and valuable for everyone involved.

As a Product Designer embedded within the HP app UX design team in the GxD (Global Experience Design) organization, you will work super‑close with UX, product, and technology teams across multiple business units to design and deliver experiences across mobile and desktop. This role requires strong collaboration across a complex ecosystem—balancing inputs from different teams while maintaining a clear, user‑centered point of view.

You are comfortable owning features end‑to‑end while also contributing to broader platform experiences, and you know how to move between concept and execution with confidence. You have a drive to tackle complex problems through a balance of user experience, interaction design, and visual craft to create intuitive, elegant, and scalable experiences. You are also energized by the role AI plays in shaping the future of products—and how it can enhance both the user experience and the way we design.

Responsibilities

End‑to‑End Feature Ownership: Own and drive design solutions from problem definition through execution for key features and product areas, while contributing to broader platform experiences.

User‑Centered Design: Translate user needs, behaviors, and insights into intuitive and engaging experiences. Participate in research and use data to inform and validate design decisions.

Interaction & Visual Design: Create high‑quality interaction patterns and visual designs that align with brand and system standards. Move fluidly from low‑fidelity concepts to polished, production‑ready UI.

AI‑Powered Experience Design: Actively design AI‑driven experiences such as intelligent recommendations, automation, and contextual assistance. Understand how to integrate AI in a way that is useful, usable, and trustworthy for users.

AI‑Integrated Workflow: Leverage AI tools to accelerate your design process—from ideation and research to prototyping and iteration—while maintaining a high bar for quality and critical thinking.

Cross‑Team Collaboration (Critical): Work effectively across the GxD organization and multiple partner teams, including different business units and engineering groups. Navigate varying perspectives, align stakeholders, and drive toward cohesive, platform‑level solutions while advocating for the end user.

Systems Thinking: Work within and contribute to a scalable design system, ensuring consistency across mobile and desktop while evolving patterns where needed.

Prototyping & Iteration: Create prototypes to explore ideas, communicate concepts, and test experiences. Iterate quickly based on feedback, data, and evolving requirements.
