How this role drives the company forward The Senior Marketing Event Specialist is responsible for planning and executing high-value company tradeshows, seminars, and webinars. This role works closely with various teams, including creative, content, digital marketing, sales, and product marketing, to create impactful events that not only promote our brand but also drive awareness and accelerate pipeline growth. This onsite role is located in San Jose, CA.

How you will make an impact Build brand awareness, improve customer relationships, and drive sales by planning and executing high-value company tradeshows, seminars, and webinars. Support all aspects of event negotiation, planning, and logistics through cross‑functional collaboration with vendors, sales, and marketing team members. Deliver professional and polished events aligned with brand values and executed seamlessly.

What will you do

Maintain the Takara Bio trade‑show/event calendar to meet business needs.

Execute event logistics, implementation, and follow‑up / debrief activities. This includes event project plans, selecting and hiring vendor partners, sourcing and selecting venues, negotiating contracts, arranging amenities, food and beverage, transportation, event registration, production, attendee surveys, and preparing event reports.

Support event leads processing by collecting and submitting sales and marketing leads for upload to databases by the Data Analyst.

Maintain event information on the corporate website.

Process departmental purchase requisitions and report monthly accruals, credit‑card usage and other purchasing information.

Post and maintain corporate marketing materials for employees and affiliates on the corporate intranet.

Track and maintain status of active literature, promo items, and trade‑show materials.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

How will you get here

Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, business or related field, life science, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing tradeshows and vendor shows.

Knowledge of virtual event platforms and technology.

Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

Self‑driven, flexible, patient, results‑oriented, detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and able to tackle concurrent tasks and projects.

Additional Information about the role This full‑time position is headquartered in San Jose, CA. The U.S. base salary range is $100,000 – $110,000 USD, not including additional bonus compensation and benefits. Compensation packages are based on individual factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions.
