Job Summary As a HVAC Layout Designer, you will support design development of facility layouts and piping & equipment in a 3D model using S3D. This position is designated as part‑time telework and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities

3D modeling of HVAC duct and equipment in S3D

Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements, HVAC orthographic drawings.

Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, e.g., input, interference reconciliation.

Ensure compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.

Ensure PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.

Review and check calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared.

Interface with support engineers, construction, and suppliers during preparation of 3D model and drawings for model/space control purposes.

Take responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take‑offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.

Work with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.

Education And Experience Requirements

AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3‑4 years of experience or 5‑6 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills

Must be a US citizen.

Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education and travel.

Hands‑on experience using SmartPlant S3D modeling platform (preferred).

Understanding of the various HVAC system types, components, equipment and control systems.

Knowledge of national building codes and an understanding of ASHRAE standards.

Knowledge and understanding of the use of the V & I Ds.
