Director of Digital Product (Engineering Platforms)

Position Overview As the Director of Digital Product, you will lead the company’s enterprise-wide digital engineering product ecosystem, owning digital platforms and capabilities that support the full product lifecycle from engineering through manufacturing and service. You will be accountable for the strategy, operating model, and long-term investment decisions that enable scalable, model‑centric, and data‑driven ways of working across the enterprise. You will partner with senior leaders in business, engineering, and D&I&T to align technology investments with business priorities and deliver measurable outcomes. Reporting to the SVP, Chief Digital and Information Officer, you will shape enterprise-wide digital engineering capabilities with broad impact across products, platforms, and operating performance.

Key Responsibilities

Define and own the enterprise digital product strategy for engineering platforms and capabilities (PLM, ALM, CAD, and supporting ecosystem).

Establish and govern a multi‑year product vision, roadmap, and investment strategy balancing innovation, platform sustainability, technical debt reduction, and business value realization.

Maintain accountability for the overall health and performance of the engineering digital product portfolio, including adoption, cost efficiency, engineering productivity, quality outcomes, and time‑to‑market.

Lead the evolution of the digital engineering operating model, including governance, funding models, agile‑at‑scale practices, and value measurement.

Enable and scale the digital thread, ensuring seamless continuity from CAD‑driven engineering BOMs through manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service.

Drive adoption of systems engineering, MBSE, PLM, ALM, and CAD platforms that support virtual build, virtual testing, MBD, and platform‑based product development.

Serve as the executive decision and escalation authority for cross‑domain prioritization, capacity trade‑offs, and platform investment decisions.

Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external partners to ensure platforms are secure, resilient, compliant, and future‑ready.

Guide release planning, dependency management, and roadmap transparency to ensure predictable delivery and alignment across business units and delivery teams.

Establish value‑based prioritization frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics, using data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Lead, mentor, and develop product leaders, including product managers and product owners, while shaping product organization design and capability maturity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

15+ years of progressive experience spanning technology, engineering systems, and business strategy in complex enterprise environments.

7+ years of senior product leadership experience owning enterprise platforms or digital product portfolios, preferably within engineering, manufacturing, or industrial domains.

Deep experience with engineering systems and product lifecycle processes (PLM, ALM, CAD) and PTC solutions strongly preferred.

Proven success defining and executing enterprise‑scale, multi‑year product strategies with measurable business outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise transformation initiatives and influence executive stakeholders.

Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with value‑based investment, portfolio governance, and ROI measurement.

Exceptional communication skills, translating complex technical concepts into clear, executive‑level business insights.

Experience in digital engineering transformation (MBD, virtual testing, configuration‑driven development) within automotive, powersports, aerospace, or industrial products preferred.

Experience working in agile‑at‑scale frameworks (e.g., SAFe or Scrum@Scale).

Hybrid work structure based in Medina or Wyoming, MN: 3 days in‑office / 2 days remote.

Compensation & Work Arrangement The starting pay range for Minnesota is $184,000 to $225,000 per year. The hybrid work structure is 3 days in‑office and 2 days remote, with on‑site days determined by management and business needs.
