
Director, Security Operations

Job Description
The Director, Security Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations across all ASCAP offices and events, ensuring the safety of employees, executives, visitors, and corporate assets. This role partners with the SVP, Head of Security, to develop and implement strategic security policies, risk management initiatives, and crisis response protocols, while also providing hands‑on management of on‑site security operations. The Director supervises third‑party security staff, coordinates executive protection and event security, and serves as the secondary operational leader for incident response, ensuring ASCAP maintains the highest standards of physical and workplace security. The Director is based in the New York office, reports to the SVP, Head of Security, and occasional travel for in‑person meetings may be required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
20+ years of experience with law enforcement, relevant corporate security experience a plus
HR218 Certification required
CPR/AED/First Aid Certified required, instructor a plus
Experience with intelligence, public service or a private sector security organization or international equivalent preferred
Fire life safety experience is a plus
Experience with Executive Protection is a plus
Experience with CCTV and Access Control is a plus
Ability to manage a group of security contractors, when needed.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Strong communication skills, ability to communicate with varying levels of internal and external stakeholders
This position requires the incumbent to be in the office five days per week and requires additional evening, morning, or weekend hours as needed.
Occasional travel to other ASCAP offices and events are required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 and will be determined on an individualized basis depending on several factors that are unique to each candidate including geographic location (due to differences in the cost of labor), skills, education and prior relevant experience.
