We are seeking an experienced
Program Director / Lead Consultant – Cybersecurity
to lead large-scale
technical security risk assessments and penetration testing initiatives
across multiple county IT environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands‑on technical expertise along with proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute technical security risk assessments across county IT infrastructure
Perform and oversee internal & external penetration testing
Assess environments including servers, desktops, networks, firewalls, IAM, MFA, VPN, patching & vulnerability management
Develop standardized methodologies, templates, and assessment frameworks
Manage assessment teams, workloads, timelines, and deliverables
Create project plans, status reports, and executive-level documentation
Communicate complex security findings to non-technical stakeholders, leadership, and regulatory bodies
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years in cybersecurity risk assessments & penetration testing
5+ years leading technical security assessments
Strong experience with vulnerability identification and exploit validation
7+ years managing technical teams and large programs
Hands‑on experience with NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001
Excellent documentation, communication, and leadership skills
Nice to Have
State or Government project experience
Prior experience handling multi-county or enterprise-scale initiatives
Client-facing consulting background
