Position Overview Within the Experience Foundations team for AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction), we are seeking a Senior Principal Content Strategist to lead content strategy for Forma Construction and Data. This team is responsible for the construction and data management software and platform that enables connected, trusted experiences across the entire build lifecycle with real-time insights. Reporting to the Senior Director of Content Strategy for AEC, this role will set a holistic content strategy and develop standards across the Forma Construction and Data portfolio while driving strategic impact through end-to-end content strategy on top priorities. They will work in close collaboration with content strategy leadership, content designers on individual products, and cross-functional partners to ensure that content strategies and frameworks account for diverse needs, scale across use cases, and are future‑forward. They will also help shape user interfaces and customer experiences that are easy to use, provide transparency and control, manage expectations, and spark joy. The content systems they help develop will evolve as quickly as the product, supporting frequent releases with a unified, outcome‑oriented user experience in a measurable way.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the end‑to‑end content strategy in close partnership with the Content Strategy Manager of the Forma Construction and Data team.

Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and other cross‑functional roles to ensure content is integrated early and effectively into the product development process on top priorities.

Architect holistic content systems and frameworks that drive coherence and shared standards across a broad portfolio while providing flexibility that accounts for nuanced needs.

Guide the design of learning and onboarding experiences that are intuitive, approachable, personalized, contextual, and aligned with Autodesk’s AI‑forward product direction.

Continuously explore and improve tools, methods, and AI‑enabled ways of working that strengthen content quality, speed, innovation, and impact at scale.

Develop scaling strategies, including empowering partners, evolving approaches to support documentation, and leveraging AI.

Design and facilitate workshops and discussions that drive ideation, build relationships, support learning, and create alignment to enable efficient execution with excellent results.

Define success metrics for content quality and effectiveness and partner with cross‑functional teams to evaluate and continuously improve the experience through research and iteration.

Coach others and raise the practice of content strategy by modeling strong systems thinking, AI‑forward ways of working, and high standards for craft and execution.

Collaborate with content strategists across AEC’s product teams to ensure product‑specific considerations are accounted for and create cohesion across the product ecosystem.

Contribute to strategic initiatives, nurture team culture, foster learning opportunities, and mentor members as a senior member of the AEC Content Strategy team.

Minimum Qualifications

12+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, conversation design, information architecture, or related disciplines in complex digital product environments.

Proven experience leading content strategy for large‑scale, multi‑surface product ecosystems with strong systems thinking and cross‑functional influence.

Demonstrated ability to build scalable and measurable content frameworks, governance models, and design standards that support consistency across teams and products and quality at scale.

Strong understanding of how language, interaction logic, and product behavior work together to shape trust, usability, and customer outcomes.

Experience partnering closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Research to influence product direction and deliver integrated user experiences.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate ambiguity and emerging concepts into clear strategic direction.

Track record of working effectively in fast‑moving environments where product capabilities evolve quickly and content must keep pace.

Ability to balance strategic vision with executional rigor, including developing principles, patterns, and operational approaches that scale.

Expertise designing in‑product onboarding and learning experiences that are engaging, personalized, and contextual and evolving on traditional support models.

Familiarity with AI tools, agentic systems, and the opportunities and risks involved in designing AI‑native user experiences.

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Human‑Computer Interaction, Information Design, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience in the AEC industry.

Deep expertise in conversational UX, content design for AI‑driven experiences, and designing guidance that helps users navigate complex workflows.

Passion for applying product design, AI, and content strategy to empower designers, makers, and builders.

Salary Transparency For Canada based roles, the expected starting base salary is between $148,000 and $216,700. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, the compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
