Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead all pharmacy operations within an acute‑care hospital setting. This leader will provide strategic and operational oversight across clinical services, regulatory compliance, budgeting, staffing, and medication‑management initiatives that support safe, effective, and high‑quality patient care.

Provide strategic leadership and direction for all hospital pharmacy operations.
Integrate evidence‑based practices into pharmacy workflows and clinical decision‑making.
Oversee medication management, clinical protocols, and regulatory compliance.
Partner with medical staff, nursing, and hospital leadership to optimize patient care and support interdisciplinary initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Develop, implement, and monitor departmental goals, policies, and quality standards.
Promote a culture of safety, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards (TJC, CMS, DOP), and internal policies.
Staff Leadership & Development
Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment.
Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, including hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and performance management.
Support ongoing staff development, clinical competencies, and succession planning.
Financial & Resource Management
Manage departmental budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
Oversee pharmacy automation, technology systems, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, reduce waste, and improve medication‑use processes.
Qualifications (Must‑Haves)
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Active Utah Pharmacist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Leadership experience in a hospital or health‑system pharmacy setting.
Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, regulatory standards, and medication safety.
Preferred Skills:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Experience with budgeting and financial oversight.
Familiarity with accreditation surveys (TJC, DOP, CMS)
Strong leadership, team‑building, and strategic planning capabilities.
Previous Director‑level or Manager‑level pharmacy leadership experience.Experience with clinical program development and pharmacy automation/technology systems.
