Scope Of Role The scope is to provide continuous improvement leadership to the Ecovyst corporation in the West Coast and Midwest Region. The supported locations are Hammond, IN; Long Beach, CA; Martinez, CA; and Portland, OR.
Position Overview The
Continuous Improvement Specialist
will be responsible for deploying, governing, and sustaining the TRACC / Manufacturing Excellence operating system and other CI improvement projects or initiatives. The role builds leadership capability, embeds disciplined operating routines, and ensures continuous improvement is owned by line leadership, not the CI function.
The base salary range for this position in as for the job description criteria as listed is $140,000 to $160,0000 annually. Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. Where an individual's pay falls within the range is determined by factors including, but not limited to, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
In some cases, compensation may fall outside of this range depending on factors, including a candidate's qualification, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
What You Will Be Doing
Deploy and govern the TRACC/Manufacturing Excellence system aligned to business priorities
Establish governance, cadence and role clarity for execution
Conduct TRACC maturity assessments and readiness reviews.
Develop CI capability roadmap and deliver aligned training to reduce consultant dependency
Work closely with Site Leadership to help set priorities, reduce risk, and provide guidance on action plans.
Track Leading & Lagging indicators, risks, and elevate systemic barriers to leadership.
Facilitate identification of safety, reliability, quality, cost, and delivery losses.
Maintain the CI opportunity pipeline and project prioritization.
Serve as a Manufacturing Excellence assessor
Ensure sustainment plans are defined, verified and embedded as standard work, not a program
Reinforce structured problem solving and daily management behaviors.
Define and standardize Daily Management Systems.
Utilize Gemba walks to observe, provide feedback and coach leaders to strengthen understanding, own results and lead TRACC routines
Promote Best Practices across the Ecovyst Network
Other Continuous Improvement projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
Minimum of 6 years in chemical manufacturing environment (operations, production, maintenance, logistics, process engineering), or other chemical industry improvement roles
Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications preferred
Demonstrated people management skills including prior line management or team leader experience
Strong relationship building and leadership to influence and manage change across the organization
Experience with Lean Tools such as Daily Management, Leaders Standard Daily Work (LSDW), 5S and Visual Management
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, able to structure issues, run analysis and how to use teams to solve deviations and implement sustainable solutions
Must be willing to conduct training to develop CI organizational capability
Travel to plants/sites within United States. Travel is estimated at 50% mostly from the West coast to Hammond, IN.
