Strategic Communications Coordinator – Lincoln Office
The Strategic Communications Coordinator at HDR’s Lincoln Office will support public involvement and outreach activities for HDR engineering projects, assisting with client management and leading the development and implementation of communication plans.

Responsibilities
Work with HDR clients to strategize and support stakeholder and public outreach and engagement strategy for projects.
Event planning and logistics coordination for public meetings, hearings, open houses, community events, focus groups, workshops, advisory committees, and other stakeholder meetings.
Write public notices and press releases; monitor and track media.
Develop and manage stakeholder and comment databases including distribution lists, comment responses and reporting.
Research industry trends, stakeholders, regulatory requirements.
Develop content/write copy for project‑specific outreach including websites, online meetings, videos, newsletters, surveys and social media.
Manage production and work with multimedia designers to develop concepts, branding and public‑friendly graphics.
Coordinate distribution of outreach materials such as newsletters, websites, handouts, presentations, advertisements, door hangers, press releases, and mailings.
Provide stakeholder facilitation and conflict resolution.
Manage external service providers including sub‑consultants, court reporters, videographers, acoustical consultants, etc.
Travel to project locations, including some overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Three (3) to five (5) years of related communications or community involvement experience.
Demonstrated experience with public outreach, community relations, multicultural engagement, or event planning.
Experience working with remote teams/clients.
Service‑oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Self‑starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel up to 50 %.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, etc.).
Ability to drive or independently travel.
General interest in infrastructure projects such as power, water, wastewater, transportation, transit, energy, sustainability, and architecture.
Willingness to travel to Omaha for team meetings – multiple times a week the first 3 months and then as needed and planned with supervisor.
Experience with public involvement, social media, community relations and/or event planning.
Experience within the architecture and engineering consulting industry.
Multilingual.
Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Service‑ and client‑oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments at a time and meet set deadlines.
Self‑starter who can work well independently or in a team environment.
Experience using social networking/social media programs.
Attention to detail.
