Director of Finance — Aurora, CO (Hybrid) Position Summary The Director of Finance will serve as the organization’s strategic finance and accounting leader, ensuring long-term financial sustainability, maintaining strong internal controls, and advising the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The role also oversees outsourced human resources and information technology functions.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy
Lead financial strategy, planning, and performance management aligned with organizational goals
Direct the annual budgeting process and develop multi-year financial forecasts
Present financial reports, KPI dashboards, and budget analyses to leadership and the Board
Oversee cash flow management, projections, and banking relationships
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to funders, investors, and stakeholders
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, including CDFI and SBA requirements
Conduct financial analysis to inform program growth, staffing, and new product development
Oversee restricted fund accounting and partner with the Development team on grant budgets
Accounting Operations & Compliance
Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and close processes
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
Manage audit processes, Form 990 preparation, and regulatory compliance
