Job Summary
Ambassadors will provide staffing for the Information Desks, Emergency Department Desks, Pedway Cart, and ICU waiting rooms as needed, as well as rounding new patient rooms in the hospital. Improve patient satisfaction by rounding new patient rooms, providing patients with information, and evaluating any concerns from the patient. Educate patients and families on service excellence survey expectations. Ambassadors will perform Guest Relations duties, including rounding new patient rooms, greeting/salutations, wheelchair assistance, assist valet services as needed, maintenance of first impression areas, driveway traffic control, directions/information, assisting visitors, and all other duties as directed. The Ambassador serves as a liaison to patients and their families and the medical staff, providing medical information, updates, counseling, and crisis intervention for Trauma Services, the Adult and Children’s Emergency Department, and the Intensive Care Units.
Education
High School graduate or equivalent (Required)
Some college education (Preferred)
Experience
Prior hotel/retail, public relations, patient care, or other healthcare-related experience (Required)
Proficient in Windows-based operating software/systems; good oral and written communication skills; presentation skills; strong customer service skills; excellent analytical, planning, organizing, and troubleshooting skills.
Prior guest relations experience (Preferred)
Position Requirements – Licenses/Certifications
Valid driver’s license (Required)
BLS certification completed prior to assignment and maintained thereafter (Preferred)
Department Position Summary The Ambassador is responsible for all duties not requiring a commissioned officer, including escorts, rounding new patient rooms, medical mall transport, and Guest Services duties such as greeting, wheelchair assistance, valet services, maintaining first impression areas, driveway traffic control, directions, assisting visitors, and other duties as directed. Ambassadors provide staffing for the Information Desks, Emergency Department Desks, Pedway Cart, and rounding patient rooms as needed. They must be proficient with multiple computer systems such as IBEX, InVision, and Net Access, ensuring accurate input and staffing of assigned computers. Ambassadors must handle a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment and perform related incidental duties. The Ambassador Lead Person at Medical Mall covers 1st‑3rd shifts Monday‑Friday and weekend shifts as needed, collects KRONOS and PTO requests, forwards them to a Supervisor, orders supplies, and coordinates timely completion of HLCs and TB skin tests.
