Job Title: Assistant Designer, Outlet Leathergoods
Primary Purpose
As the Assistant Designer, you will assist in the creative development of handbags and SLG’s under the guidance of the Senior Design Director, from initial concept through to final product execution. This role plays a key part in ensuring the seasonal vision is translated into compelling product, while also maintaining organization and momentum across the design and development process.
Responsibilities
Participate in seasonal trend, market, and material research to support the overarching design concept.
Support the design process from conception through production.
Create and maintain detailed CADs and technical specification packages to accurately communicate design intent, construction details, and material usage to factories and PD partners.
Support the preparation of design presentations, mood boards, and visual tools for key milestone meetings.
Organize and maintain design samples, panels, trials, and reference libraries in a clean, efficient, and systematic manner.
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners in Merchandising, PD, Hardware Design, Tech Design, and Print Design teams to support the design process from concept through to final production.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
Minimum 1+ years of experience.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
Hand sketching ability.
Knowledge of raw materials, as well as construction techniques.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Flexible, self‑motivated, and eager to learn.
Comfortable in a fast‑paced, creative environment with evolving priorities.
