Summary The Community Lending Manager supports the credit union’s mission to promote financial well‑being and expand homeownership access for low to moderate income households. This role is responsible for developing, managing the affordable housing initiatives, down payment assistance programs and grant‑funded projects. Qualifications & Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Communication or related field or a minimum of eight years related experience required Minimum four years directly related experience in a mortgage origination, mortgage sales, or community lending role required Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize projects Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills Knowledge of mortgage compliance, housing programs including HUD, FHA, USDA and down payment assistance structures Highly organized, detail oriented and mission driven Job Duties Develops and manages affordable housing products and down payment assistance programs Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities Partners with the mortgage leadership, Community development and retail teams to integrate housing solutions into lending strategies Identifies community housing needs nationwide and expands access for the underserved segments Identifies, writes and secures grants from federal, state, local and nonprofit sources to support Teachers FCU housing and community development initiatives Provides educational workshops for branches, realtors, loan officers and potential homebuyers Manages the full grant lifecycle including budgeting, reporting, documentation and funding Tracks performance metrics and prepares reports for leadership, regulators and grant funders Represents the credit union at all community housing events, workshops and partner meetings Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives Proactively evaluates, recommends, and implements policy updates or new controls to strengthen community lending initiatives and ensure full adherence to NCUA regulations Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor Benefits This position is eligible for our annual discretionary bonus program. Some positions within the credit union also qualify for quarterly performance incentives Paid time off for vacation, personal days, and holidays 401(k) company contribution Teachers pays 100% of Dental & Vision premium Tuition reimbursement is offered to full‑time employees Exclusive employee discount of 0.96% APR on credit card loans and a 1.00% APR on all other loans through Teachers The good faith salary for this position is $84,250 to $101,250 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
