Wage Range : $80,000 - $91,000 annually
Job Summary The Major and Planned Giving Officer is an experienced fundraising professional. They are responsible for actively managing a portfolio of 100-140 donors who make gifts of $10,000 or more. This position reports to the Director of Individual Giving. They work closely with other gift officers to effectively cultivate existing and new donor relationships.
Essential Functions
Design and execute custom donor engagement strategies to advance philanthropic relationships in alignment with donors’ authentic interests and the needs of Catholic Charities Twin Cities
Solicit gifts of $10,000+ from a portfolio of qualified donors using a variety of solicitation methods
Provide prompt, meaningful gift stewardship
Invite donors to make gifts in their will or estate plans
Identify unique opportunities for donors to provide transformational funding in partnership with direct service and facilities staff
Use Salesforce database to manage donor relationships and analyze, record, and forecast giving and relationship data
Collaborate with Mid-Level and Annual Giving staff to move donors through gift pipeline
Serve as key planning team member for high-level donor events
Assist with various individual giving projects as needed
Represent the mission of Catholic Charities with the highest integrity
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of fundraising experience including at least two (2) years of donor portfolio management and successful solicitation of five-figure gifts
Working knowledge of estate and non-cash giving vehicles and solicitation methods
Strong philanthropic interest in and passion for the mission of Catholic Charities Twin Cities and an eagerness to share enthusiasm with individual donors
Mature judgment, initiative, and the ability to make independent and effective decisions
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience using a donor database to record giving and relationship data
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to effectively and kindly navigate conversations with people they disagree with
Ability to travel within the Twin Cities region to make personal visits to donors and prospects using their own transportation
Willingness to work occasional early mornings, nights, and/or weekends for events and donor meetings
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with human services programs in the Twin Cities region
Experience soliciting gifts for a capital campaign
Experience using values-based giving
