Position Overview The Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM) drives operational excellence by identifying, analyzing, and improving organizational processes, systems, and workflows. This role leads strategic initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and strengthening overall performance. The CIM collaborates with leaders and teams across all functions to ensure improvement efforts align with company goals and deliver measurable, sustainable results.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
5+ years of experience in process optimization, operations, or business/continuous improvement management.
Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 80/20 thinking, and other CI methodologies.
Proficiency in data analysis, performance measurement, and root-cause problem solving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
Strong analytical thinking, prioritization, and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive change and manage multiple initiatives with a focus on deadlines and results.
Key Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Optimization
Evaluate current processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement using data-driven methods and root-cause analysis.
Recommend and implement enhancements that improve quality, productivity, cost, and safety.
Project Leadership
Plan, lead, and execute continuous improvement projects from initiation through completion.
Track milestones, manage timelines, and ensure delivery of measurable outcomes.
Methodology Deployment
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 80/20 thinking, and other CI tools to optimize operations and eliminate waste.
Facilitate workshops, kaizen events, and structured problem-solving sessions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training
Partner with department leaders to implement process changes and support organizational alignment.
Train and mentor employees on CI tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Prepare and present progress reports to senior leadership, highlighting successes, efficiencies gained, and further opportunities.
Change Management
Promote innovative thinking and guide teams through change initiatives.
Anticipate challenges, manage resistance, and ensure consistent adoption of improved processes.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Frequent mobility required throughout the facility.
Occasional moderate-to-heavy lifting (50+ lbs.).
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to see close-range details and hear in environments with moderate background noise.
Requires sustained concentration with periodic interruptions; tasks may require 45–60 minutes of focused attention.
Work Environment
Industrial shop environment with exposure to dust, dirt, metal debris, and moderate noise levels.
