Loan Negotiation Group
This is a front‑line position working with Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets to negotiate financing commitment papers and credit agreement terms for leveraged and investment‑grade debt transactions. In addition, the candidate will play a lead role in structuring, negotiating, and documenting (with outside counsel) select high‑yield transactions, bridges, structured finance deals, project financings, complex amendments, and other products. The Loan Negotiation Group team supports several businesses throughout the firm as well as the firm’s credit department and is part of Transaction Execution & Risk Management within the Global Banking & Markets division.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal deal teams and in‑house and outside counsel to structure highly complex transactions.
- Negotiate Term Sheets and Commitment Letters with sponsors and borrowers.
- Coordinate with all internal teams, including Capital Markets, on the structure, pricing, and economics.
- Lead negotiation of final documentation with sponsor, borrower, and other arranging banks.
- Participate in syndication process and conversations with investors on the structure and terms of documentation during syndication.
- Initiate and participate in internal educational initiatives and programs designed to teach elements of transaction structuring through various forums, including periodic trainings.
Basic Qualifications
- Prefer 5 years’ experience in banking, credit, or leveraged finance at a bank or law firm.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Transactional experience with sponsor leveraged buyouts, corporate debt transactions, asset‑based revolvers, and/or project finance.
- Experience working across teams in high‑intensity environments, with demonstrated ability to play lead roles and make decisions.
- Sound credit analysis skills is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Graduate Degree (MBA or JD).
Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States‑based position is $150,000‑$300,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year‑end.
