Storytelling & Impact Communications Systems
AmeriCorps, Duffield, VA, United States
Overview
Appalachian Sustainable Development (ASD) is seeking a mission‑driven AmeriCorps VISTA member to design and implement sustainable storytelling systems that amplify the impact of our anti‑poverty initiatives and strengthen resource development. The position will audit existing communications materials to identify opportunities to better highlight poverty reduction outcomes, and will develop a cohesive storytelling framework that elevates the voices of farmers, food entrepreneurs, and workforce participants overcoming economic barriers. The VISTA member will create user‑friendly templates for newsletters, donor communications, case studies, and program spotlights that staff can sustain beyond the service term, and will draft compelling impact stories to enhance grant proposals and reports. Working collaboratively with program staff, the member will translate technical data into accessible, inspiring content for diverse audiences and establish an ongoing story collection system, complete with a sustainability guide, to ensure ASD’s impact is clearly communicated for years to come.
