Actively seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Property Accountant to oversee all facets of Property Accounting for a leading real estate firm in South Florida. Ideal candidates will be self-starters, strong leaders, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or multi-family (non-apartment/condos) property accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Portfolio/Asset Manager to drive portfolio profitability and support new acquisitions
- Manage cash flow, funding requests, and monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reporting packages (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Budget Variance, Executive Summary)
- Review AR/AP transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and accrual entries
- Prepare year-end financial packages for tax filings and audits
- Communicate regularly with clients and ownership on financial results and performance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Full-cycle accounting experience in commercial real estate (property management preferred)
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance preferred; Associate’s with equivalent experience considered
- Skilled in variance analysis, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite; Proficiency in Yardi is required
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines independently
- Team player with integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
