Join Helix Traffic Solutions Traffic Control for a Safer Tomorrow The Estimator will lead the preparation and development of cost estimates for roadway construction projects involving temporary traffic control, work zone safety devices, and designated new lines of service. The role requires an estimator capable of independently managing the full estimating process from plan review through bid submission while supporting contractor relationships and internal operations planning. Key Responsibilities Review construction plans, specifications, and traffic control requirements Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and logistics. Prepare and submit bids for ADOT, county, municipal, and private construction projects. Coordinate with vendors, trade partners, branch managers and operations Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate with contractors to clarify project requirements. Track submitted bids and follow up with contractors to maintain relationships and gather market feedback. Minimum Qualifications Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. (Required) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & working with numbers. (Required) Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking when reviewing plans and specifications, identifying scope risks, and developing competitive bid strategies. (Required) Road construction operations or estimating experience. (Required) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and contractors. (Required) 1+ years in estimating.
