Human Resources Specialist

In this position, you will serve as Human Resources Specialist. Typical work assignments include: Providing human resource management advisory and technical services involving the following HR areas: recruitment & staffing, classification, performance management, pay administration, employee relations, employee benefits. Providing HR advisory and technical services in recruitment, staffing, classification, performance management, pay, benefits, payroll, and employee relations. Analyzing HR issues using diagnostic methods, recommending interventions, and resolving complex, interrelated HR problems. Ensuring personnel actions comply with applicable laws and regulations, identifying deficiencies, and taking corrective action. Advising managers on recruitment and placement options, initiating actions, and completing follow-up including job analysis and candidate assessment. Administering position classification policy, interpreting standards, supporting position description development, and ensuring duties are accurate and non-overlapping. Counseling employees on HR programs including benefits, leave, pay, insurance, retirement, and working conditions, and explaining rules and options. Reviewing, editing, and updating policy procedures in accordance with administration priorities and NEA guidelines.
