Job Overview
We are seeking a hospitalist to join our elite team. This position involves evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostics, coordinating discharge planning, and ensuring cost‑effective, quality care. You will serve as admitting, attending, and consulting physician for hospitalizations and participate in academic programs as requested.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate diagnostic and treatment skills; coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care.
- Accept patient referrals; act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization.
- Participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research) as requested.
- Provide documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialty areas; may include on‑call schedules.
Minimum Requirements
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
