About the Role
The Director of Finance oversees the day‑to‑day and month‑end accounting operations for the WinStar World Casino Hotel. This leader ensures accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all financial functions while upholding the hotel’s accounting quality standards. The position manages the Controller, the accounting department, the Purchasing Manager, and the purchasing team. This role requires a hands‑on, detail‑driven financial professional who thrives in a high‑volume hospitality environment and can maintain strong internal controls while supporting operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Director of Finance oversees all financial operations for the WinStar World Casino Hotel, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls. This role partners closely with hotel leadership, casino finance, and corporate teams to drive profitability, strengthen financial discipline, and support long‑term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial planning and analysis for hotel operations, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long‑range planning.
Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights.
Manage accounting functions including revenue audit, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial controls.
Ensure compliance with tribal, state, federal, and gaming‑industry regulations.
Partner with hotel leadership to evaluate business performance, optimize revenue, and control operating costs.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
Present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team.
Support capital planning, ROI analysis, and major project evaluations.
Collaborate with casino finance teams to ensure alignment across resort‑wide financial operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
CPA, CMA, or similar certification strongly preferred.
7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in hospitality, gaming, or large‑scale resort operations.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
Proven ability to lead teams in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive‑presentation skills.
Experience with enterprise financial systems and hotel management systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, LMS, Opera) is a plus.
