Our client is currently seeking a DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY in IL.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee all Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs for the organization. The Director serves as the primary decision-maker on all quality and food safety matters and leads responses to any related incidents.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Leadership
- Establish strategic direction and execution plans for all quality and food safety initiatives across operations.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce robust quality policies, procedures, and programs.
- Act as the final authority for product disposition decisions and lead investigations during quality or food safety events.
- Build and promote a strong culture of proactive food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance leadership within food manufacturing.
- Ready to Eat Protein experience in a must.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and quality management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
