Position Mission
This position is responsible for providing financial leadership to key stakeholders (executives, field leadership, investors, etc.) by overseeing all financial aspects of the business and driving the company’s financial strategy and planning. The role delivers accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights that support strong business performance, operational excellence, and long‑term growth, in alignment with Bagel Brands’ Mission, Vision, and Values.

- Bonus: 25%

Enterprise Scope of Responsibilities
- Own the company’s financial planning processes, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), periodic forecasting, and Long‑Range Plan (LRP).
- Lead enterprise financial modeling, performance analysis, and strategic decision support across the organization.
- Develop and lead the FP&A team and collaborate with executive leadership, field operations, and investors.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead development and execution of the AOP, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and cross‑functional input.
- Own periodic forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clear visibility into financial performance.
- Develop and maintain the LRP, including financial modeling for strategic planning and valuation activities.
- Ensure forecasting methodologies, assumptions, and outputs are robust and aligned with business strategy.
Financial Analysis & Business Insights
- Lead financial analysis to identify business trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, including variance analysis and key drivers of results.
- Partner with field and Support Center leaders to understand business performance and provide decision support.
- Evaluate new business initiatives, capital investments, and growth opportunities to ensure alignment with financial and strategic goals.
Executive & Board Support
- Prepare and deliver financial presentations, reporting, and insights for executive leadership, Board of Directors, and investors.
- Lead development of materials for quarterly board meetings and other key financial updates.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Operations, Development, Marketing, and other functions to align financial planning with business initiatives.
- Collaborate with the VP of Accounting/Controller and Financial Reporting to ensure alignment between planning, reporting, and close processes.
- Support new store development, asset management, and operational initiatives through financial analysis and partnership.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, develop, and coach FP&A team members, building capability and ensuring high‑quality output.
- Establish clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards for the team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within Finance.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting, with strong expertise in financial planning, modeling, and analysis.
- Proven experience leading enterprise planning processes such as AOP, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross‑functional alignment.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.
Preferred
- Experience supporting restaurant, hospitality, or multi‑unit operations.
- Experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Vena, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan).
- ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite or similar).
- CPA or MBA.
