Director, Project Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Clinton Site Master Plan and Site Capital Plan, including short- and long-term capital forecasting, recapitalization planning, and monthly project portfolio performance reporting
  • Provide leadership to project engineering staff, including performance management, coaching, succession planning, and development of a high-performing team
  • Drive safe execution of all engineering and construction activities by embedding HSE, environmental, and process safety principles into project design and contractor operations
  • Oversee site capital project portfolio execution, including capital approvals, cash flow tracking, budget alignment, and resource prioritization across business needs
  • Manage alliance contractor relationships, including contract ownership, labor agreements, productivity metrics, and performance oversight for external engineering/construction partners

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of project engineering, capital project management, or engineering leadership experience
  • Top skills: Strong capital project leadership expertise combined with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders through effective communication and negotiation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with alliance contractors in a manufacturing or industrial site environment
  • Strong knowledge of facility construction estimating, design scheduling, and project controls (scope, cost, schedule, safety)
  • Prior supervisory or people-management experience leading technical teams
  • Proficiency with SAP project engineering modules and Veeva systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
