Overview The

Social Media Art Director

is a

creative thinker and visual storyteller

responsible for helping shape compelling,

social-first content

across

global and market-specific social platforms .

This role blends

concept development, hands-on design execution, and trend fluency

to drive

brand awareness and audience engagement

across key social channels. Working closely with a

multidisciplinary social creative team , this position supports the creation of visually engaging content that feels relevant, authentic, and platform-native.

Type: Long contract, Hybrid Schedule: Regular day hours Duration: 1.5 years or longer Pay: $30 - $34/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible

Social Media Art Director Requirements •

1+ years of experience

in

design direction or art direction , ideally within a

social-first, beauty, fashion, or lifestyle

environment • A

strong portfolio

showcasing

visual storytelling

across

static, video, and social content formats • Solid understanding of

major social platforms

including

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook , along with emerging content trends •

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite ;

motion or animation skills

(After Effects, Premiere) are a plus • Familiarity with

social content production , including a foundational understanding of

photo and video workflows • Strong eye for

composition, styling, and design , with interest in

motion and video craft • Ability to

collaborate cross-functionally , receive creative feedback, and iterate efficiently • Comfortable managing

multiple guided projects

while meeting deadlines in a

fast-paced environment • Demonstrated

curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn , with openness to feedback • Passion for

beauty, culture, and storytelling , with interest in both

polished and lo‑fi content styles

Social Media Art Director Duties • Contribute to the

visual development and execution of social-first content

across multiple platforms • Design and deliver

channel-appropriate creative

for both

organic and paid social • Collaborate with

art directors, designers, videographers, photographers, copywriters, and strategists

to concept and execute content aligned with

brand and campaign objectives • Support

art direction for social-focused photo and video shoots , including

pre‑production planning and on‑set assistance • Partner with creative teammates to ensure

cohesive storytelling and high-quality execution • Assist in the development of

Social Playbooks , contributing

concepts, visual directions, and reusable templates • Stay current on

social trends, formats, and cultural moments , translating insights into

brand-relevant content ideas • Ensure all creative aligns with

platform best practices, audience behaviors, and established brand guidelines • Collaborate with

creators and influencers

to help bring

authentic social moments

to life • Actively contribute to a

collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team environment
