Job Summary: This leadership role is responsible for the overall direction, administration, and performance of the Health Information Management (HIM) department. You will oversee critical functions including record processing, coding accuracy, compliance, transcription, data integrity, and release of information while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage all HIM department operations across the system Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in coding and documentation Oversee medical record processing, indexing, storage, and retrieval Manage trauma registry, transcription, and release of information Maintain HIPAA compliance and data integrity standards
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Science or related field (or active plan to complete) – Required
Experience: 5+ years of management/supervisory experience – Required 5+ years of medical coding experience – Required Experience with HIPAA regulations – Preferred
Certifications: RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) – Required RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) – Highly Preferred
