Editor-in-Chief Job at Vantor in Tampa

The role requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level.

This position supports USSOCOM J39 in advancing Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) capabilities through integrated analytics, knowledge management, and strategic planning. The effort focuses on solving a critical operational gap: the absence of a centralized capability to effectively manage global information operations data, partner nation SOF knowledge, and trans-regional planning across multiple classification domains. By improving synchronization of information operations, this work enhances decision-making and alignment across Combatant Commands, interagency partners, and allied networks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in editorial leadership, content review, and publication management
• Demonstrated ability to oversee high‑volume, high‑quality content production
• Experience editing content for strategic communications or influence purposes
• Strong understanding of tone, messaging alignment, and audience targeting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD, SOCOM, or IC communications efforts
• Familiarity with MISO/IO products and approval processes
• Experience managing multi‑platform content (digital, print, social)
• Knowledge of the information environment and narrative competition
• Advanced degree or editorial certification

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job‑related factors including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skill sets for this position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position ranges from $87,000.00 to $185,000.00 annually, depending on geographic market within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, and Washington.
