Department Summary
The Office of the Provost (OtP) oversees the academic mission of the University of Oregon (UO), coordinating faculty success, resource allocation, and outreach to local, regional, and national communities. In support of the university’s strategic plan, Oregon Rising, the OtP is launching eight Career Communities to enhance career preparation for students across all majors.
Position Summary
We are hiring four Career Community Program Directors to lead strategy and engagement for two Career Communities, connecting students with industry‑informed guidance, experiential learning, and a supportive network of faculty, peers, alumni, and employers. Directors will convene advisory boards, cultivate partnerships, design programming, drive student engagement, and use data to refine strategies, scaling inclusive career‑development initiatives.
Core Duties
- Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination: Recruit and facilitate a diverse advisory board, leverage expertise for programming, and build partnerships with campus and external stakeholders.
- Student Engagement and Communication: Drive student engagement with strategic, student‑centered communications, create inclusive pathways for involvement, deliver programming, and guide students toward tools, networks, and personalized support.
- Employer and Alumni Engagement: Develop and maintain industry‑trend expertise, build relationships, and plan and deliver community‑aligned programs and events to expand reach and continuously improve impact.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience in career services administration, student success, or project management.
