Field Sales Engineer Manager

Brady Corporation, salt lake city, ut, United States

What We Need

The Manager, Field Sales Engineering leads a high-performing team that serves as the technical backbone of our sales organization. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the technical discovery, solution design, and Proof of Concept (POC) stages for our advanced identification solutions within complex hospital environments. You are responsible for ensuring your team successfully navigates the intricacies of EHR integrations (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and wireless networking challenges. As a strategic partner to the Sales team, the FSE team plays a vital role in helping customers architect end-to-end solutions that modernize clinical workflows and ensure seamless connectivity across mission‑critical healthcare systems. Travel up to 50%.

What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership & Technical Mentorship

  • Direct Management: Lead, coach, and scale a national team of Field Sales Engineers.
  • Technical Upskilling: Ensure the team remains subject matter experts in barcode/RFID technology, thermal printing, barcode scanners and mobile workstation integration.
  • Resource Allocation: Strategically assign FSEs to high‑value accounts based on technical complexity, territory and sales priority.

Strategic Sales Support

  • Solution Architecture: Partner with Territory Managers to design enterprise‑wide identification workflows that reduce medical errors and improve efficiencies.
  • POC Excellence: Standardize the "Proof of Concept" process to ensure clinical staff see immediate value in PDC hardware during trials.
  • Operational Excellence: Author and enforce standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for site surveys and hardware deployments to ensure technical consistency across all regions; proactively reduce deployment friction and eliminate installation errors through rigorous pre‑sales validation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Product Feedback Loop: Act as the "Voice of the Field" to Product Management, translating hospital technical requirements into the future product roadmap.
  • Escalation Leadership: Establish and maintain a robust technical bridge between Field Sales Engineering and Technical Support; serve as escalation point for complex hardware and software issues, ensuring "boots‑on‑ground" insights are translated into permanent engineering resolutions.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • Experience: 5+ years in Technical Sales or Field Engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership/management capacity.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Healthcare IT ecosystem
  • Education: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical Skills: Experience with thermal printing, RFID, or barcode scanning technology is highly preferred.
