Duration: 6 to 8 month contract

We are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer with state government RFP experience to join a collaborative proposals team on a 6-8-month contract. This role follows a hybrid schedule in Dallas, TX 75019 and is ideal for a confident, detail-oriented writer who can lead complex proposal efforts in a highly structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage state and federal government proposal responses, with a strong focus on state-level RFPs.
• Analyze and dissect RFPs to develop compliant, compelling proposal outlines and narratives.
• Serve as the project lead for assigned proposals, managing timelines, contributors, and deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts and internal stakeholders to gather accurate content.
• Partner with a contract manager and legal team, with no direct responsibility for legal redlines.
• Ensure proposal content is clear, well-structured, grammatically flawless, and aligned with detailed workflows and processes.
• Present and communicate confidently with executive leadership as needed.

A Day in the Life:

• Work within a proposal team of 9 to 10 professionals.
• Follow established proposal processes and highly detailed workflows.
• Navigate shifting deadlines and evolving requirements common in government proposals.

Top Must-Haves:

• Proven experience writing proposals for state government RFPs. Federal experience is also acceptable.
• Strong ability to interpret, dissect, and strategically respond to RFP requirements.
• Exceptional writing and grammar skills with a sharp attention to detail.
• Flexible and organized, with an understanding of government proposal timelines and complexities.
• Comfortable speaking clearly and professionally in front of executive leadership.

Preferred Experience:

• Tenured proposal writer with experience leading complex, high-visibility submissions.
• Familiarity working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
