
MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST - KCBD Job at Texas Association of Broadcasters in Lubbock

KCBD is looking for a hard-working, creative, and energetic storyteller to join our award-winning team as a multimedia journalist. We will invest in, train, and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and prosper.
The ideal candidate will be a strong writer who understands creative visual storytelling and professional delivery.
Responsibilities
Be a team player
Pitch and develop enterprise story ideas daily
Conduct thorough interviews, research, and fact-check
Shoot, write, edit, and deliver stories on-camera on multiple platforms
Report live on the scene, especially from developing news
Deliver content to digital and social media platforms
Make beat checks
Develop sources and contacts
Work with our team of photojournalists, though some solo shooting is expected
Collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air and on digital
Qualifications
Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right while serving our community.
Strong writing skills; ability to write conversationally and creatively
Strong camera presence; ability to inform and engage
Video editing knowledge
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred
Some newsroom experience preferred
Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant, but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts.
