Hi! I’m hiring a Founding Actuary at Corgi, an insurance company focused on building RRGs and captives.
We’ve raised $108M and are in the process of standing up our first insurance entities. This would be our first in-house actuarial hire, working on reserving, pricing, and regulatory filings, alongside external actuarial and captive partners.
Looking for someone senior (ACAS/FCAS) who’s comfortable operating across multiple lines and interested in helping build the function over time. Happy to share more details if helpful.

About the Role We are looking for an experienced actuary to be our first in-house hire for the function. Day to day, you would handle feasibility studies, reserving, and pricing. You would not be doing this alone: we work with outside counsel, captive managers, and consulting actuaries who are already in place. There will be budget to bring on junior actuaries to support you.
What You Would Work On
Loss reserving and rate development for commercial programs.
Pricing for new lines and states.
Regulatory filings and interfacing with state departments of insurance.
Feasibility studies for new RRG and captive formations.
Coordinating with counsel and captive managers on deadlines.
Over Time
Serve as appointed/opining actuary across entities.
Help shape reinsurance program structure and pricing.
Present to the board on reserves and projections.
Bring on and mentor junior actuaries.
Required Qualifications
FCAS or ACAS + MAAA.
12+ years of actuarial experience.
Some prior captive or RRG work.
Comfortable working across multiple lines of business.
Nice to Have
Appointed actuary experience for RRGs or captives.
Multi-state regulatory filing background.
Reinsurance pricing experience.
Familiarity with Python, R, or similar tools.
