Senior Civil Estimator

Perform quantity take-offs for site developments and golf course construction which includes the following duties: 1. Reading plans to assess how to approach the bidding process in terms for means and methods of construction or reject bidding the project altogether (5%); 2. Reading Specifications and Geotechnical Reports to assess how to approach the way to bid on a project in terms for means and methods of construction. (10%); 3. Perform quantity take-offs by using Trimble Business Center (CAD software) and Bluebeam software for site developments and golf course construction which includes: storm drainage, sanitary sewer, potable water, irrigation water, earthwork modeling, cut/fill analysis and reports using Trimble Business Center (CAD Software)(20%); 4. Writing subcontracts and purchase orders that co-inside with awarded projects, ensuring that they match the proposal and contract execution dates and billing due by dates are correct (5%); 5. Use HCSS HeavyBid program to develop the crew sizes, equipment cost and crew productions for each discipline of work for a specific project (50%); 6. Produce Preliminary Construction Schedules using MS PROJECT program to dovetail with the bid that was created within the parameters of the specifications in terms of time needed which determines potential job performance bonuses or liquidated damages for each project. (5%); and 7. Negotiate with Site Developers and Project Owners on pricing and timing of projects and internally assess if company has the manpower and machine resources to perform project on time and under budget (5%). Requirements: U.S. earned bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Construction Management. 2 years of experience as Civil Estimator or any occupation in which civil estimation experience is gained. Must be proficient in the following: 1. TRIMBLE BUSINESS CENTER or AGTEK; 2. AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D; 3. HCSS HEAVYBID Estimating Software; 4. MS PROJECT scheduling software; 4. BLUEBEAM REVU (take-off software); 5. MS Office Excel, Word and Outlook. Must be fluent in English language (verbal and written). Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly. Strong analytical and organizational skills a must. Must have firm understanding of Excavation, Storm Drainage, Sanitary Sewer (gravity and force main), Potable Water, Reclaimed Water and Roadway Paving construction (including concrete and asphalt). Must be familiar with the specific unique subsoil conditions of Southern Florida. Occasional travels up to 2 times per month to client meetings and jobsites throughout the state of Florida. FT.
