WeCare Centers at The Green Home Care Center
is actively seeking a motivated and energetic
Assistant Activity Director
to support the planning and delivery of engaging, resident-centered recreation programs. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with seniors and wants to grow their career in activities or therapeutic recreation.
What You’ll Do
Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a
monthly activity calendar
Support the delivery of
group and 1:1 recreational programs
Help facilitate
dementia-focused programming
Lead activities and events as needed, including evenings or weekends
Assist with
resident outings and special events
Maintain activity supplies and help track department inventory
Document resident participation and report changes in condition
Provide support in supervising activity staff when needed
Ensure programs are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with resident interests
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with the
elderly population , preferably in long-term care or senior living
Enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate personality
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to confidently lead activities and engage residents
Knowledge of recreational programming or willingness to learn
CTRS certification or coursework in Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred
Minimum
1–2 years of experience in activities or recreation preferred
