A key enterprise communications leadership position: the director of CEO communications is responsible for the conceptualization, research, development, and execution of internal and external communications for the Ochsner Health President & CEO.
Working closely with senior leaders of enterprise communications, the office of strategy management, division heads, and other key leaders, the director captures and refines executive voice, key messages, and original, strategic content for the CEO. The director drafts briefings, remarks, talking points, motivational messaging, video scripts, correspondence, social media posts, board messages, and creative slide presentations, and supports the CEO at on‑site events and engagements.
As an integrated member of the enterprise communications team and the office of strategy management, the director operates with a dotted‑line matrix reporting to the CEO’s chief of staff while maintaining direct reporting to the enterprise communications team. Together these leaders function as an open and cohesive team built on respect, trust, transparency, and collaboration.

Established track record of writing for high‑profile leaders and successfully positioning and developing a unique voice in verbal and written communications.
Demonstrated initiative, strong attention to detail, project management and organizational skills, and advanced ability to analyze information and make recommendations.
Proactively seeks clarity and insights from stakeholders and subject matter experts, applying learnings to create persuasive and engaging internal and external communications.
Maintains a high standard of accuracy and professionalism in all written and visual content, with superior fact‑checking and due diligence.
Exceptional ability to manage interviews, editorial topic development, strategy and communications plan development, speechwriting, copyediting, and proofreading for high‑level, public, confidential, and sensitive communications documents.
Comfortable and experienced with technology: AI tools, content management systems, social media, Microsoft Office including advanced PowerPoint design.
Strong collaborator, confident advocate, positive team player and strategic advisor who adapts to changing scenarios and navigates conflict toward solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to build wide‑ranging relationships from staff members to senior leadership with a culture of trust, transparency, and empowerment.

Job Duties
Research, draft, and edit speeches, talking points, scripts, and correspondence for the CEO’s external and internal engagements.
Support key opportunities for the CEO to engage with audiences, including conferences, panels, and media interviews.
Work independently and with design vendors to develop high‑quality PowerPoint presentations for speaking events, meetings, and conferences.
Create, schedule, and manage posts for the CEO’s social media accounts; monitor trends and conversations relevant to the CEO’s interests and industry.
Coordinate scheduling, planning, and logistics for the CEO’s communications engagements with the executive assistant.
Prepare briefing materials, including background information, key messages, and logistics for the CEO’s speaking engagements and media appearances.
Attend all system events and leadership meetings as a communications team member.
Stay up‑to‑date with the latest communication tools and technologies to enhance the CEO’s public presence.
Build and deploy content within the Inside Ochsner platform.
Participate in team meetings, workshops, professional development opportunities, and routine content reviews, proofreading, and editing.
Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality while handling frequent flows of sensitive information.

Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business, Political Science, or related field.
Advanced degree in Communications, Business, Healthcare Administration, or similar is an advantage.
Work Experience
Required: 10 years in communications within a large, geographically dispersed healthcare system, government agency, armed forces, national brand, or agency setting.
Location
In‑person, five days per week at OMC‑New Orleans. Occasional overnight travel is a requirement.
