As a Technical Designer - Junior in our Minneapolis office, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. This position is based on-site in our Minneapolis office 5 days a week
What You Will Do
Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production
Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
Utilize digital and/or hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts
Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
Coordination with the project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultants
Assist with processing of submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFIs
Contribute to the financial performance of project.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
1-5 years of related experience
Proficiency in modeling using 3D software; Revit is preferred
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper or Rhino, is a plus
Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Collaborative and team-conscious
State licensure or LEED accreditation (or in process) a plus
